8 BIT RIDICULOUSNESS

I know that there are many metalheads with a pole up there arse that will hate this. But from the first moment that i heard an 8 Bit cover of a “classic” extreme metal tune i thought it was ace. At worst it’s funny (or should be) to those that have heard the originals. But at best it become a whole new awesome all by itself.
.
So here is a playlist of roughly 70 or 80 tunes. I say “roughly” because i may add or delete tunes as and when the whim takes me. Also, YouTube uploads are prone to dissapear now and then.

This next is something that i also love watching the clips of the bassist playing the original. This music is so fast and so complex that you really have to watch it being played, as much as hear it, to get any idea of just how much is going on. But in this version with the much cleaner sounds, and without someone screaming over the top, it’s possible to take in a lot more of what is happening.

What i said about the last clip is also true of this one, if just a tiny bit less mental. It’s also great because i got to see Nile only a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. But the odd thing about this clip is that it still somehow sounds like them. Perhaps it’s the jagged and quirky bits they throw in have translated well.

The other thing about changing all these death metal tunes into computer sounds is that if the sounds were just slightly different then they would sound a lot like the more extreme forms of gabba, speedcore, or terrorcore. Maybe if you put this next one through some distortion the tranformation might be complete. Things might not have come full circle, but a good semi at least.
